Ford Bronco – Top features, price, and purchasing tips

Date:

Adventure enthusiasts looking for a vehicle that helps them navigate challenging terrain can consider the Ford Bronco. The vehicle is engineered to handle challenging terrain, including sandy areas, rocky tracks, and even snowy landscapes. After halting production in the late 90s, the automobile witnessed a revival recently, to much fanfare. The latest variant of this truck-based off-road SUV is available in four and two-door configurations with V-6 and I-4 powertrains.

Design

The automobile comes with a rugged exterior that perfectly complements its off-roading capabilities. Additionally, it has various trim levels, including Black Diamond, Big Bend, Wildtrak, Heritage Edition, Everglades, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage Limited Edition, and Bronco Raptor. The premium design features can be found on the higher-end trim levels, while some attributes are standard across all trims.

  • Heavy-duty modular front bumper comes standard in the Wildtrak and Badlands trim.
  • Bronco Raptor consists of an optional Code Orange appearance package.
  • 17-inch wheel options are now available.
  • Two new exterior color options are introduced—Velocity Blue and Shelter Green.

Performance

Whether one opts for the turbo V6 or the turbo 4-cylinder engine, the Ford Bronco offers ample power. It is smooth for everyday driving needs. The 10-speed automatic transmission shifts rapidly. The V6 engine, in particular, shines during on-ramps and highway merges, providing extra power for a dynamic driving experience. With this engine, the Bronco goes from 0-60 mph in 7.3 seconds, which is an impressive figure considering its four-door configuration and oversized tires.

The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine promises 330 hp and 415 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, with the 2.3L EcoBoost I4 engine, it records 325 lb.-ft of torque. The SUV also has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

Comfort

The seats of the Ford Bronco offer better support and allow ample adjustments, which can reduce exhaustion during long trips. The automobile is a truck-based SUV, meaning it is built on a light truck frame. Given this construction design, the automobile is bouncier and firmer, but that does not compromise the drive quality.

The vehicle has a dual-zone climate control system that allows each passenger to control their own temperature settings. Furthermore, the front seats are heated, supportive, and easy to adjust. This feature can benefit individuals in colder regions who are seeking a new Bronco for sale.

Interiors

Getting in and out of the Bronco is made easier and more comfortable than ever, thanks to the grab handles placed conveniently across the cabin. With the generous adjustment range for the steering wheel and the driver’s seat, all the gauges and controls are easily accessible for the driver. The chunky, extensive knobs are a huge advantage. Their placement and size make them easy to see and convenient to use, even when wearing gloves. The two-door variant of the vehicle offers a cargo capacity of 52.3 cu-ft, while the four-door versions offer 83 cubic feet. There is ample room for storing personal items and cupholders for beverages.

Technology

Bronco offers an advanced set of driver assistance features that make the ride comfortable and peaceful for the drivers and passengers. With the adjustable driver models, it is easy to optimize the SUV traction, depending on the kind of terrain.

Furthermore, Bronco also includes a few other driver aids, such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. These features come in handy when driving in cramped spaces. Beyond this, the automobile also offers SYNC® 4 Technology with cloud-connected navigation that helps drivers stay informed about the latest traffic and weather conditions and parking availability. A 12.0-inch touchscreen comes standard. Its center console has crisp, clean graphics. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration come standard. Wireless compatibility is enabled too. The stereo system works well with excellent sound output.

Fuel economy

With its I-4 engine, the Ford Bronco registers fuel efficiency figures of 20 mpg on city roads and 27 mpg on the highway. Meanwhile, for its V-6 engine, the SUV registers 24 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg in the city.

Pricing

The price for the low-end variant of the Ford Bronco starts at $41,525. But, the top-line models can go up to $91,730. The cost typically varies depending on the options and trims.

Big Blend: $41,525
